NEW Friday Favourites!

Thu, September 28, 2017

This week's Friday Favourites are the best yet! It is so fun sharing my favourite things with you every week, and I LOVE hearing your feedback! This Friday I'll be sharing a few of my favourite things, ranging from the book I'm reading, the workouts I'm loving, a playlist of songs that remind me of our recent world trip, the BEST skincare and words to live by!

If you have any requests for what you would like to see in the Friday Favourites please let me know and I will make sure I share it with you!

What I'm Reading

Christine and Elizabeth Shepherd, two American sisters, are on a silk-buying trip in India for their business. After Elizabeth vanishes mysteriously, Christine embarks on an adventure with various strangers as guides to locate her sister.

Disguised in the traditional female garb of some Islamic cultures, Christine continues her search in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Her harrowing journey sees her encounter drug and arms dealers, as well as the Taliban.

This was such a captivating story! The attention to detail on the setting and cultures was meticulous, they were described so vividly it almost feels like you are there.

I love a good thriller and this certainly didn't disappoint. A fascinating glimpse into Middle Eastern culture, if you're looking for a can't-put-it-down book then this could definitely be your next read!

Favourite Quote

"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart."

Helen Keller

I absolutely love this quote, and the past year and a half has proven to me that a truer word has never been spoken. This week I posted a vlog on how I stay happy and positive, you can watch it by clicking here.

I spoke about treating yourself, not by splurging or buying expensive things, but thinking of the things that truly make you happy and doing them often. Something that makes me happy is the long walks Tim and I go on when he is home on the weekends, we value that time together so much and nothing beats that feeling!

You might get the same feeling when you hear a song that reminds you of an experience or someone special, when you see someone in your family achieving their goals and thriving or the unspoken, immeasurable bond you have with your pets. These all come to my mind when I think of the best things in life!

Workout I'm Loving

This week my online members have inspired me to whip out the magic circle and revisit my favourite workouts utilising this incredible piece of equipment.

We filmed this amazing workout at the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina. In this session we use the resistance of the magic circle to define, tone, lift and cinch your entire lower body!

All you need is your mat and your circle, click here to watch.

This Week's Playlist

This week's playlist consists of songs that remind me of our incredible world trip! Like I mentioned previously, there is nothing quite like the feeling a particular song invokes when it reminds you of a happy time in your life, and every single one of these songs make me smile. See if you can guess where we were and what we were doing when we were listening to these songs, I bet there are a few you can pick! It's also a fun playlist to pair with your workouts this week, enjoy!

Beauty Products I Love

Right now I am really loving the "Resist Line" from Paula's Choice. Paula Begoun is an expert in skincare and the director of her incredible namesake company. The products I have been using include:

Resist Perfectly Balanced Cleanser - A cream cleanser that leaves my skin feeling beautiful and soft.

Resist Weightless Advanced Repairing Toner - I love a good toner and this one really delivers. It calms my sensitive skin, diminishes the appearance of pores and firms up the skin.

Resist Youth-Extending Daily Fluid SPF 50 – This is an oil free moisturiser but leaves my face feeling extremely hydrated,  it's also lightweight with protection against the sun without the usual smell or feel of sunscreen, which I never use apart from this product so that is a major bonus for me!

Resist Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator – This is a night time moisturiser that's really light and absorbs quickly, I love the way this moisturiser makes my skin feel by the morning!
